Helen qualified at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2000 after which she undertook training with The Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry.
Helen accepted a position at Leeds Dental Institute in 2003 where she immediately developed a passion for oral surgery and worked as an oral and maxillofacial surgery house officer. During her time at LDI, she was awarded membership of the faculty of dental surgery (MFDS). Helen became a Clinical Teaching Fellow at Leeds University in 2009 where she teaches dental undergraduate students. She also carries out oral surgery procedures under local anaesthetic, intravenous sedation and general anaesthetic.
Helen is involved in the teaching of anxiety and pain management to dental students as well as all aspects of oral surgery. She is a member of the dental sedation teachers group.
The skill and expertise of Helen is a valuable asset to the U Dentistry team, allowing us the ability to offer patients restorative treatments under sedation if people need that extra helping hand as well as being able to accept oral surgery referrals from local general dental practices.
